There are boat clubs at Tapola and Bamnoli where one can go on a boat ride on this lake. This is huge reservoir produces electricity in 5 stages and a prominent water resource for south Maharashtra. It is located at a distance of 85 kms from Satara.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone will flabbergast when this frame of Shivsagar lake burst upon right in front without a cue. Though the entire drive on the meandering Mahabaleshwar- Bamnoli road is scenic, this vista left everyone surprised. The mint green valleys, and the undulating mountains form the perfect backdrop during the monsoons. Lake is very serene and each and every picnic spot developed in the vicinity is blessed with serene natural beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Tapola famously called the mini Kashmir of the west is a rustic hamlet with a magnificent lake \u0096 Shivsagar. From Mahabaleshwar Tapola is 25 kilometers away and the drive to Tapola from Mahabaleshwar is a picturesque one with vistas galore on either side of the road. Water body is infact the reservoir of the Koyna dam. Be it boating, water scooter rides, kayaking or swimming, Tapola will certainly not make you feel confined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Monsoon is the best time to visit these Shivsagar Lake and the attractions in its vicinity. The best period to visit this area is October to February.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The lake is clean and well maintained. Over the years, Shivsagar Lake has proved to be an ideal week-end getaway. Around 2 hours will be needed to roam around this lake. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n\nShivsagar Lake, being one of the most beautiful regions in the Satara district offers a peaceful and calm spot to spend an entire day. You can even choose these lakesides as your one-day picnic spot. Cool water here, is quite clean and fresh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you love water sports, then Shivsagar Lake has got boat rides for you. Also, ensure that you are choosing for speed boating, as it feels completely different as if you are entering another world.
